SoundSkool is an accredited Rock School London (RSL) centre, we deliver our qualifications through a dynamic curriculum which enhances artist development & composition; music production, music business, digital media & promotion, entrepreneurship & employability alongside wellbeing and life skills.
SoundSkool has a truly dedicated team of tutors and practitioners; all of whom are qualified creative education specialists and industry professionals, with invaluable experience and expertise; teaching and learning extends beyond the classroom and studios at SoapBox, to include partnerships with Rich Mix, The Roundhouse and Tileyard Education as well as an enhanced industry mentorship, masterclass and work experience programme.
SoundSkool began as a community organisation making a real grass roots difference to young people across North and Inner London boroughs, working in some of London’s most deprived areas. SoundSkool had recognised the need to develop qualifications suitable and relevant to the current music industry, and that were accessible to London’s creative young people, regardless of their background, ethnicity, abilities or disabilities and SoundSkool Music College was formed officially in 2012.
Today, SoundSkool offers an industry-led, specialist music curriculum, delivered in state of the art facilities in Islington, as well as community outreach programmes to schools and community partners pan-London.
Our courses allow both music performers and music producers to build upon their existing skills, gain knowledge and confidence, and, importantly, prepare our students for work in the music industry. All of our courses include music business core units, which is key for all students to fully comprehend and understand how the music industry works. Students take part in lots of exciting activities at the college, these will include; Industry Masterclasses, Work Experience Placements, External Music Showcases, Mentoring, Trips and Community Music Projects.
