Our two year, Level 3 course is our flagship music production and business course, we offer you a fully comprehensive introduction to working towards being a professional music producer.
As well as developing your skills in music production, composition, music theory and business, you will develop a thorough understanding of how the music industry works and create the tools and resources necessary to start a career, find freelance work or even launch your own business.
As a music producer, you will learn to work to an industry brief, create music in a range of different genres and record and mix musicians in our master studio.
Collaboration is a key component of this course, you will be working with SoundSkool artists and creating music projects together.
You will look in depth into the following:
- Synthesis
- Remixing
- Sampling
- Sound Engineering
- Mixing & Mastering
- Music Business
Music Production Pathway Students will:
- Advanced music production skills
- Develop professional composition techniques
- Learn how to produce for solo artist and group artists
- Create resources to launch their career in the music industry
- Develop their music theory
- Learn about contracts and copyright
- Develop their understanding of marketing and promotion
- Learn how to professionally release and promote their own music
- Enhance their knowledge of the music industry
- Have access to industry standard, state of the art equipment
- Complete both practical and theoretical assignments
- Work on individual and group projects
- Have access to 1:2:1 and group vocal, keyboard and guitar lessons
- Have the opportunity to showcase their work at regular SoundSkool events
- Network – connecting with established music industry professionals at SoundSkool’s renowned masterclasses, as well as going on industry trips and attending seminars & workshops
- Undertake industry work experience
Students will be guided by SoundSkool’s team of expert tutors who will assist you towards your musical career goals.
All Level 3 students are expected to undertake the 2-year Extended Diploma, however there are opportunities for students to join SoundSkool for 1 year undertaking the Subsidiary Diploma.
Students will also undertake GCSE and/or functional skills in English and/or Mathematics if they have not yet achieved Grade 4 or above.
What Do I Need To Apply?
Level 2 RSL Diploma for Music Practitioners, or equivalent
OR demonstrable musical experience, and 5 GCSE’s at Grade 4-9.
