Level 3 Music Production & Business

Our Level 3 Music Production course offers a comprehensive introduction to life as a professional music producer. You’ll develop your skills in production, recording, mixing, composition, theory, music marketing, and business—while gaining valuable insights into how the industry really works. Learn to respond to professional briefs and bring your ideas to life in our state-of-the-art studio. You’ll also build the tools and confidence needed to launch your career, take on freelance work, or even start your own music business.

Entry Requirements

  • 5 GCSEs at Grade 4-9 including English & maths.
  • Demonstrable intermediate music knowledge & skills.
  • Good school references and school report.
  • You will also need to successfully complete your interview and audition.

If you do not achieve a Grade 4 or above in GCSE English and/or maths, it is mandatory that you continue working towards these qualifications as part of your course. At SoundSkool, this means you’ll attend college on an additional day each week to complete your English and/or maths studies alongside your music qualification.

HOW TO APPLY:

This dynamic and comprehensive Level 3 Music Performance & Business course is designed for aspiring music producers who want to master both the creative and business sides of the music industry. Over the course of your studies, you’ll dive deep into essential skills such as synthesis, remixing, sampling, recording, sound engineering, mixing, mastering, and music production.

Throughout the course, you’ll develop advanced production skills, explore professional composition techniques, and gain the ability to produce for both solo artists and group acts. With access to industry-standard equipment, you’ll also gain a solid understanding of the music business—learning how to create and release your own music, manage contracts, understand copyright, and apply music marketing strategies to professionally promote your work.

Our hands-on approach includes individual and group projects, plus 1:1 lessons in production techniques tailored to your development. You’ll also have opportunities to network with industry professionals through masterclasses, workshops, and industry trips, and gain real-world experience through work experience placements.
