Masterclasses
We believe that the best way to equip and train our students is to be closely aligned with and work in partnership across the wider music sector.
SoundSkool is proud to deliver a dynamic, music industry-centred masterclass series. Embedded as part of their studies, SoundSkool students have access to specialised workshops, masterclasses, trips, and industry guest performances, with the purpose of getting our young creatives integrated with the wider music community.
Some of our past hosts include music manager John Woolf, producer Bless Beats, rappers Chip & Cadet, Disturbing London founder artist manager Dumi Oburota, marketing manager Marla Altschuler and Complete Music Update founder Chris Cooke.
We have also been supported by Cre8ing Vision/The Ultimate Seminar, the late and great Jamal Edwards and TK Tha Great from Finnesse Foreva to name a few!
These sessions help to contextualise your studies, and allow a unique opportunity to meet and converse with the figureheads of the industry.
As well as our masterclass series, we have close relationships with a number of industry partners, offer students industry mentors, deliver industry set briefs and project work from renowned music companies such as DawBell, and promote audition opportunities for students, including hosting scouts from The Voice.
As part of your course you will also go on trips to relevant creative spaces.
Students have previously visited Finyl Tweek Studios, Island Records, Atlantic Records, Royal National Theatre, and Tate Modern.
SoundSkool also runs its own events; with internal performances and production showcases, Instagram Live showcases; and external performances at various venues around London; which have included the Roundhouse, The Roadtrip and Hornsey Town Hall Arts Centre.
